Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup chopped pecans
Instructions
- Prepare the Oven and Pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan to prevent sticking.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
- Combine Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted butter, eggs, buttermilk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Form the Batter: Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined (avoid overmixing).
- Add Pecans: Fold in the chopped pecans evenly throughout the batter.
- Bake the Bread: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool and Serve: Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and enjoy with a cup of coffee or tea!
Notes
- Room Temperature Ingredients: Using room-temperature eggs and buttermilk helps the ingredients combine smoothly, resulting in a better texture.
- Don’t Overmix: Stir until just combined to keep the bread light and tender.
- Check for Doneness: Insert a toothpick into the center of the bread. If it comes out clean, it’s ready.
