Christmas Oreo Balls Recipe

  • Author: Susan
  • Total Time: 50 Minutes
  • Yield: 24 Oreo Balls 1x

Description

Oreo Balls for Christmas are the ultimate holiday treat, combining the smooth creaminess of crushed Oreos and cream cheese with a festive chocolate coating.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (14 oz) package Oreo cookies, finely crushed
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 12 oz white chocolate, melted
  • 12 oz milk or dark chocolate, melted
  • Red and green sprinkles or colored icing for decoration

Instructions

  • Combine Oreos and Cream Cheese: In a large mixing bowl, combine the finely crushed Oreo cookies with softened cream cheese. Mix until the mixture becomes smooth and dough-like. A food processor can make this step easier by crushing and blending everything quickly.
  • Form the Balls: Scoop about one tablespoon of the Oreo mixture and roll it into a small ball between your palms. Place each ball on a parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing them out slightly.
  • Chill the Oreo Balls: Place the tray in the refrigerator and let the Oreo balls chill for about 30 minutes. Chilling helps firm them up, making them easier to dip in chocolate.
  • Dip in Chocolate: Using a fork or dipping tool, dip each Oreo ball in melted white chocolate or milk/dark chocolate. Lift each ball, allowing the excess chocolate to drip back into the bowl, then place back on the parchment paper.
  • Decorate with Sprinkles: Before the chocolate hardens, sprinkle each Oreo ball with red and green sprinkles or drizzle with colored icing for a festive Christmas look.
  • Set the Chocolate: Allow the chocolate coating to firm up at room temperature, or place the tray back in the fridge to speed up the process.
  • Serve and Store: Store Oreo balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator and serve them chilled.

Notes

  • Crush the Oreos Thoroughly: Use a food processor or a ziplock bag and rolling pin to crush the Oreos into fine crumbs. Large chunks can make it difficult to roll into smooth balls.
  • Choose the Right Chocolate: White chocolate gives a snow-like coating, while dark or milk chocolate adds a classic Oreo flavor. You can use both for variety.
  • Chill Before Dipping: Chilling helps the balls hold their shape and makes them easier to dip in the chocolate.
