Description
These treats are perfect for the holidays or any occasion, with a satisfying crunch and a rich chocolate-toffee flavor that’s hard to resist!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 3/4 cups chow mein noodles
- 3/4 cup salted almonds, roughly chopped
- 3/4 cup Heath Bits O’ Brickle English Toffee Bits
- 16 oz. chocolate candy coating
Instructions
- Melt the Chocolate
Melt the chocolate candy coating over medium heat on the stovetop or in the microwave, stirring frequently until smooth and fully melted. - Combine Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, add the chow mein noodles, chopped almonds, and English toffee bits, reserving a small amount of toffee bits for topping. Pour the melted chocolate over the mixture and stir until everything is evenly coated. - Form the Haystacks
Using a spoon, drop portions of the mixture onto a sheet of wax paper, shaping each spoonful into a haystack. Sprinkle each haystack with the reserved toffee bits and/or additional chopped almonds for extra crunch and flavor. - Cool and Serve
Allow the haystacks to cool completely at room temperature until the chocolate hardens. Once set, enjoy immediately or store in an airtight container at room temperature.
Notes
- Use Fresh Ingredients: Fresh, crunchy chow mein noodles and nuts provide the best flavor and texture.
- Avoid Over-Stirring: Stir just enough to coat the ingredients to prevent the noodles from breaking down too much.
- Setting: Let the haystacks cool at room temperature rather than refrigerating to avoid condensation and keep them crisp.
- Prep Time: 15 Minutes
