Total Time 3 minutes mins
- 1 can 14 ounces sweetened condensed milk
- 2 cups 1 12-ounce bag semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Prepare the Pan: Butter a square pan and line it with parchment paper for easy removal of the set fudge. Set aside.
Melt Chocolate and Milk: In a microwave-safe 2-quart bowl, combine the chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk. Microwave on high for 1 minute. Remove from the microwave and let sit for 1 minute, then stir until smooth. If needed, microwave an additional 30 seconds and stir until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth.
Add Vanilla: Stir in the vanilla extract until combined.
Set the Fudge: Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Let the fudge cool completely before cutting it into 1-inch squares. For quicker setting, refrigerate for about 1 hour.
Store: Store the fudge in an airtight container. It does not need to be refrigerated.
- Use Sweetened Condensed Milk: Ensure you’re using sweetened condensed milk, not evaporated milk, as this will affect the setting of the fudge.
- Extra Firmness: If the fudge is too soft, you can store it in the refrigerator or add an extra 1/4 cup of chocolate chips next time.
- Try a Metal Spoon: Some readers find that stirring with a metal spoon instead of a wooden spoon or spatula helps the fudge set better.
