  • - 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • - 1/2 cup brown sugar

For the boiling water:

  • - 1 1/2 cups hot water

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the Oven: Preheat to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8-inch baking dish.
  • Prepare the Batter: Mix flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, and cocoa powder. Stir in milk, butter, and vanilla until smooth. Spread evenly in the dish.
  • Add the Topping: Combine cocoa powder, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Sprinkle evenly over the batter.
  • Pour the Hot Water: Carefully pour hot water over the entire dish without stirring.
  • Bake to Perfection: Bake for 40-45 minutes until the top is set and begins to pull away from the dish edges.
