Ingredients

  • - 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • - 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • - 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • - 3/4 cup unsalted butter softened
  • - 1 cup granulated sugar
  • - 1/2 cup light brown sugar packed
  • - 2 large eggs
  • - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • - 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • - 2 tablespoons orange juice freshly squeezed
  • - 1 cup white chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper and set aside.
  • Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  • Cream Butter and Sugars: In a large bowl, use a hand or stand mixer to cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and light brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
  • Add Wet Ingredients: Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, orange zest, and orange juice.
  • Combine Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix. Fold in the white chocolate chips.
  • Shape the Cookies: Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll them into balls. Place the dough balls on the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake: Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers will still look slightly underbaked but will set as they cool.
  • Cool and Serve: Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Enjoy!

Notes

  • For extra orange flavor, you can add a few drops of orange extract to the dough.
  • These cookies freeze well! Store in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 3 months.
  • Substitute milk or dark chocolate chips for white chocolate if preferred.
