Ingredients

  • 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust
  • 2 packages 8 oz each cream cheese, softened
  • 1/3 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups finely chopped pecans divided
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Thawed whipped topping such as Cool Whip, optional

Instructions

  • Bake the Pie Crust: Preheat the oven according to the pie crust package directions. Bake the crust as instructed, then allow it to cool completely.
  • Prepare the Cream Cheese Mixture: In a medium bowl, combine softened cream cheese and powdered sugar. Beat until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  • Whip the Cream: In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
  • Combine Cream Mixtures: Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until fully combined and smooth.
  • Add Pecans and Flavorings: Stir in the brown sugar, 1 cup of chopped pecans, maple syrup, and salt until evenly mixed.
  • Assemble the Pie: Pour the cream cheese and pecan mixture into the cooled pie crust, spreading it out smoothly. Optionally, add a layer of thawed whipped topping on top and sprinkle with the remaining 1/2 cup of chopped pecans for garnish.
  • Chill the Pie: Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight for best results to allow the flavors to set.
  • Serve and Enjoy: Slice this rich, creamy pie and savor the perfect combination of pecan, cream cheese, and maple flavors.

Notes

  • Soften the Cream Cheese: Make sure the cream cheese is fully softened to avoid lumps in the filling.
  • Use Fresh Pecans: Fresh, high-quality pecans provide the best flavor and crunch. Toasting the pecans lightly before adding can also enhance their flavor.
  • Chill for a Firmer Set: Allowing the pie to chill for several hours or overnight ensures it sets properly and holds its shape when sliced.
